About the Job
The Senior Supply Chain Officer will work with other units within MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices (MSIN) to drive the management of Social Marketing activities. The role follows up on services supporting the Social Marketing Unit across Fleet, Logistics, Inventory, Procurement and administrative support, with technical oversight from the Finance and Procurement Directorate and management support from the Social Marketing Directorate. The Finance Directorate oversees the inventory aspects of the role. The post holder may also provide liaison support for MSIN in Lagos as required.
International Procurement for Social Marketing
• Prepare PRF for international procurement, considering shipment lead times.
• Ensure approval of international POs and follow up on shipments.
• Work with P&L to ensure all consignment-clearing documents are complete and copies are available.
• Ensure a clearing agent is contracted before the estimated date of arrival.
• Work with Inventory to confirm final delivery points and grid requirements.
• Resolve issues with regulatory agencies.
Local Procurement for Social Marketing
• Manage daily vehicle checklist and fleet visits.
• Work with PILAM to prepare and distribute RFQs to vendors.
• Participate in Social Marketing Procurement Committee meetings.
• Coordinate port activities in Lagos, support clearing and transportation to the warehouse, and address NAFDAC/Customs issues.
• Take delivery of containerized Social Marketing products into the MSION or third-party warehouse.
• Retrieve and download data logger information and share reports with the ASO I&A Unit alongside the LSO GRN.
• Support implementation of the Social Marketing sales and distribution plan.
• Support warehouse stock planning, stock-in-transit monitoring and accurate forecasting.
• Manage the dispatch tracker.
Logistics and Fleet Management
• Manage vehicle allocation, authorized use, keys, logbooks, fuel cards, tools and equipment.
• Advise on cost-effective regional dispatch and distribution: right quantity, quality, time, temperature, place and person.
• Allocate fleet daily for service delivery and transportation.
• Enforce use of the Total Fuel Card and resolve platform queries.
• Ensure roadworthiness, servicing at 5,000 km, preventive maintenance, professional repairs and original spare parts.
• Enforce routine driver checks, defect reporting and A-B-C servicing.
• Maintain commercial service agreements for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Provide feedback and guidance to Regional Managers and the Logistics & Fleet Management Coordinator.
• Manage vehicle incidents, notifications, reports, cause analysis, registers, statistics and TrackPoint entries.
Inventory, Warehouse and Office Support
• Conduct monthly cycle counts with RFOs and prepare Critical Stock and CPFR reports.
• Maintain GWP and HSE standards, tidy shelving, racking, FEFO/FIFO, codification and labelling.
• Report monthly on expired drugs and medical consumables.
• Support commodity planning and forecasting to prevent stockouts.
• Ensure quarterly fumigation and deep cleaning of regional and state offices.
• Ensure prompt settlement of third-party invoices and routine/statutory office bills.
Required Qualifications
• First degree in administration, management, humanities, social sciences or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years’ post-graduation experience.
• Cognate experience in HR, administration, procurement, IT, inventory or asset management.
• Membership of a relevant professional body.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, including turning data from Excel and other applications into actionable information.
• Working knowledge of Tally, Liza Personnel or similar Employee Self Service solutions.
• Self-starter with project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Team player with a passion for results.
