The Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) supports FAO’s programme development, implementation, monitoring, partnerships, and representation in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities:
• Support the design and development of agricultural and natural-resource programmes.
• Monitor programme and project implementation.
• Identify delays and recommend corrective action.
• Coordinate country data on crops, livestock, forestry, and fisheries.
• Monitor national policy and development trends.
• Represent FAO with government, donors, NGOs, and civil-society partners.
• Promote FAO’s mandate through communications, website updates, and press releases.
• Supervise and support programme staff.
• Ensure compliance with FAO and UN procedures.

Requirements:
• Nigerian nationality.
• Advanced university degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Fisheries, Natural Resources, Rural Development, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
• Experience in programme development and management.
• Knowledge of Nigeria’s socio-economic conditions.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong coordination, communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
