Purpose of the job

EBRD is recruiting a Driver to join its Resident Office and provide transportation for Resident Office staff and Bank visitors within Nigeria and, when necessary, neighbouring countries. The Driver will often serve as the first point of contact for visiting guests and senior management and will provide transport for visiting missions in Nigeria and neighbouring countries.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

• Drive EBRD staff and visitors professionally, ensuring safe, punctual and efficient journeys.

• Follow all relevant local driving rules and perform duties in line with EBRD standards.

• Provide transportation for the Head of Office, Director and Bankers.

• Provide transportation and assistance to Bank visitors.

• Maintain Resident Office vehicles in good and safe working condition.

• Maintain the cleanliness and order of the Resident Office garage and driver’s area, where applicable.

• Deliver documents and packages for EBRD.

• Observe the Road Safety Code.

• Assist with Resident Office maintenance, where required.

• Support the office with clerical tasks where required, including purchasing supplies and administration.

• Serve as a designated first aider and emergency focal point, where assigned.

• Maintain the satellite phone in accordance with health and safety requirements.

• Complete the weekly travel log sheet.

Knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.

• Secondary school education.

• Valid driving licence.

• Safe driving record.

• Strict compliance with safety procedures.

• Excellent driving skills and technical knowledge of cars.

• Defensive Driver Training is preferred; training will be provided.

• Advanced Driver Training or certificate.

• Experience working in an international environment.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
