Job Summary:
The IT Specialist will support the efficient and effective operation of the country office IT systems, ensuring maximum uptime for IT services and equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain uptime and reliability of IT systems, infrastructure, and services across main and sub-offices.
• Monitor and maintain hardware and software; install and configure laptops, mobile devices, and software.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, CCTV, biometric systems, networks, and peripherals.
• Support onboarding by provisioning devices and accounts.
• Maintain network infrastructure, perform firmware updates, and provide preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with regional IT and Operations teams on policies, procedures, budgeting, and service improvements.
• Train users on IT systems, tools, and good practices.
Vendor and Service Management:
• Review vendor proposals and conduct technical bid analysis.
• Verify delivered IT equipment and coordinate warranty, service-level, and ISP matters.
General and Administrative Support:
• Support organizational security initiatives and advise on IT security matters.
• Manage monthly allocation of data and airtime resources.
• Provide additional operational support as assigned.
Asset and Inventory Management:
• Maintain a comprehensive, tagged, and accurate IT asset register.
• Conduct quarterly asset verification across offices.
• Maintain a centralized digital inventory and lead its transformation into an interactive database.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field plus relevant certifications and 3 years of IT support and administration experience; alternatively, a Master's degree with at least 1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Nigeria, with an INGO, or on donor-funded projects.
Required Language:
Excellent written and spoken English.
Travel:
Occasional travel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, data-management, networking, security, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills. Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Microsoft Azure; hardware and networks; and Windows, Linux, and macOS. Supervisory responsibilities: None.
