About IOM: Established in 1951, IOM is the leading UN agency in migration, working with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners to promote humane and orderly migration.
Role: The Medical Assistant will support the Migration Health Assessment Centre in Lagos under the supervision of the Migration Health Officer and Senior Medical Assistant. Duties may include providing information to migrants, registering applicants, scheduling medical appointments, maintaining statistics, entering biodata, taking and uploading photographs, preparing medical documents, managing files, transmitting documents, and supporting reception or call-centre operations.
Qualifications: A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, Business Administration or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a secondary school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Experience in data entry, data analysis, call-centre work, medical terminology, secretarial or archival work, NGOs or international organizations is an advantage. High computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency are required. A typing speed of at least 60 words per minute, excellent communication, attention to detail, customer orientation, flexibility and ability to work under deadlines are required. Fluency in an IOM official language, with English required for this position, will be assessed.

5. Do you have experience registering clients, verifying identities, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, or handling sensitive personal information?
6. Are you comfortable providing information to migrants by phone and email and responding professionally to people with different needs and personalities?
7. Do you have knowledge of medical terminology, secretarial work, archival filing, or experience with NGOs or international organizations?
8. Can you manage data entry, document filing, photocopying, scanning, records transmission, statistics, and other administrative duties accurately under strict deadlines?
9. Are you fluent in English and willing to undergo any written or oral language assessment required during the selection process?
10. Are you willing to work flexible hours in Lagos, support reception or call-centre duties as assigned, and uphold IOM’s values, confidentiality, integrity, respect, and safeguarding standards?
