About the Job
STOREKEEPER (MEDICAL STOCK)
Organization: Médecins Sans Frontières
Posted: 25 September 2026
Deadline: 16 October 2026 at 15:00
Location: Abuja
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Receive, store, record, and issue central medical stock held in the MSF-OCG Abuja warehouse, including medicines, medical consumables, laboratory items, medical equipment, and cold-chain products.
• Apply MSF Good Storage and Distribution Practices and the line manager's instructions so that items reach projects on time, in good condition, and fully documented. The medical team owns the stock; Supply manages it.
• Supervise materials and goods orders and dispatch to ensure rational use.
• Receive orders and deliveries, identify and report discrepancies against cargo manifests or other documents, and store materials according to the applicable system to ensure continuous availability.
• Update or create stock cards for all stock items immediately after receiving goods. Check received cold boxes and control cold-chain monitoring cards.
• Ensure all items are organised, correctly stored, protected, fully identified, and easily accessible, with proper cleanliness, security, and access control.
• Monitor store temperature and ensure cold-chain items are kept at adequate temperatures. Maintain special control of sensitive goods, including lot numbers, expiry dates, packaging, and special storage conditions.
• Prepare orders on time before dispatch. Pack according to the transport means, weigh and label freight, and record the shipping number, destination, number of shipping units, waybill number, weight, and mode of transport according to the line manager's instructions.
• In conjunction with the line manager, conduct physical stock counts according to the defined schedule. Follow up stock levels, alarm thresholds, stock-outs, and expiry dates.
• Control limited warehouse access to authorised personnel and ensure doors and exits are secured. Immediately report damage, loss, attempted break-ins, theft, or other problems to the line manager.
• Assist the line manager with preparation of stock reports.
MSF SECTION/CONTEXT-SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Receive medical goods against order and delivery documents. Check quantity, batch, expiry, and condition, and report discrepancies at reception.
• Record every stock movement in UniField with a signed supporting document, including internal transfers and authorised loans or donations.
• Store and handle medical items, including EPREP stock, according to MSF Good Storage and Distribution Practices: quarantine, first-expiry-first-out, temperature and cold-chain monitoring, and controlled medicines kept under the medical team's responsibility.
• Report expiring, expired, and damaged items to the line manager every month, and provide consumption data for AMC and order planning.
• Count stock according to the inventory schedule and explain every discrepancy.
• Back up the other storekeeper during absences in both the medical and logistics stores.
• Protect stock by applying key and access controls, releasing nothing without documentation, never signing both “received by” and “controlled by” on one reception, and reporting gifts or pressure from suppliers or transporters.
