About the Job
Purpose
The Program Coordinator will lead the effective coordination and implementation of the community-led Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention initiative across Bokkos and Jos East LGAs. The role provides strategic and operational oversight of stakeholder engagement, community dialogues, implementation of the Community-led GBV Prevention Framework, and the work of GBV champions. It ensures implementation is inclusive, conflict-sensitive, safeguarding-compliant, and aligned with donor and WfWI requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive work plan across Bokkos and Jos East LGAs.
• Coordinate implementation according to approved plans, timelines, budgets, and donor requirements.
• Coordinate community dialogues, feedback integration, dissemination, and implementation of the Community-led GBV Prevention Framework.
• Engage Paramount Rulers, Traditional Ruling Council leaders, community representatives, women leaders, GBV champions, CBOs, and other stakeholders.
• Map stakeholders and maintain a current directory across the two LGAs.
• Organize TRC meetings, community dialogues, preparatory sessions, and a high-level roundtable.
• Supervise and support GBV champions in prevention messaging, safe spaces, reporting and referral pathways, and community actions.
• Coordinate the GBV consultant and liaise with programme, MERL, finance, logistics, and administration teams.
• Monitor activities, document evidence, capture learning, prepare reports, and manage the Ford Program budget.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and support to programme personnel.
• Ensure safeguarding, inclusion, conflict sensitivity, donor compliance, and community engagement standards.
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Gender Studies, Community Development, International Development, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in programme coordination, project management, or a similar NGO/INGO role.
• Experience in GBV prevention, women’s rights, gender equality, community development, traditional institutions, and fragile communities.
• Strong planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, supervision, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent English communication and oral fluency in Hausa required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

6. Do you have knowledge of Nigeria’s legal and policy framework relating to GBV, women’s rights, safeguarding, and protection?
7. Have you worked in conflict-affected or fragile communities?
8. Are you fluent in spoken Hausa and highly proficient in written and spoken English?
9. Do you have experience developing work plans, coordinating activities, managing budgets, monitoring implementation, and preparing programme reports?
10. Are you able to work in Bokkos and Jos East LGAs, Plateau State, and engage respectfully with diverse communities?
