Driver at Malaria Consortium
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Employment type: Permanent, Full Time
ABOUT THE VACANCY
Malaria Consortium is recruiting a Driver to join its team in Abuja, Nigeria. The Driver will safely transport project officials and goods, support scheduled appointments, and perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle functionality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely transport Malaria Consortium employees and goods as directed.
- Maintain a valid driving licence and personal identification.
- Follow Nigerian traffic regulations, speed limits, vehicle SOPs and security procedures.
- Report accidents and security incidents promptly.
- Assist with loading and off-loading and other delegated transport duties.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly vehicle checks and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain fuel, movement and vehicle logbooks.
- Ensure insurance, licences, fuel, tools and safety equipment are valid and available.
- Prepare vehicles and additional materials for field trips.
- Maintain radio communication and advise on route security.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean and safely parked.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum O’ Level Certificate.
- Valid driving licence.
- Minimum five years’ experience working as a driver.
- Fluent in English.
- Honest, hardworking, pleasant personality and effective interpersonal skills.
- Basic mechanics knowledge is desirable.
- Willingness to learn and follow security protocols.
- Residents in the project location are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
