How can you make a difference?

As a Strategic Business Partner, you will be accountable for operations functions, facilitate change, provide risk-informed, solution-focused analysis, advice and services, and contribute to programme and management decisions for delivering results for children in specific operational contexts.

Major responsibilities: Operational management and service delivery; team leadership and capacity building; strategic planning and results-based management; budget and financial management; supply chain, procurement and logistics management; risk management, compliance and audit; facilities, ICT and security management; and senior-level representation and operational advisory.

Minimum requirements: Advanced university degree (Master’s and above) in business management, financial management, accounting, public finance or a related operations function, or a recognized professional accounting designation. At least 5 years of relevant professional experience at national and/or international level. Knowledge of results-based management, HACT and Microsoft Office. Fluency in English is required.

Desirable: Knowledge of another UN official language or a local language; development-sector, UN or international NGO experience; audit and investigations; safety and security; grant management; enterprise risk management; business continuity; supply chain management; ERP and IPSAS experience; and experience in development, fragile or humanitarian contexts.

Suitability Check

1. Do you hold a Master’s degree or higher in business management, financial management, accounting, public finance, or a related operations field, or a recognized professional accounting qualification?
2. Do you have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience at national and/or international level?
3. Do you have substantial experience in operations management, including budgeting, financial management, administration, facilities, supply and logistics, ICT, or human resources?
4. Have you worked with Common Services, Business Operations Strategy, or Common Premises management within an Operations Management Team?
5. Do you have experience with results-based management, HACT, and Microsoft Office applications?
6. Do you have experience in strategic planning, financial management, supply-chain management, procurement, logistics, risk management, compliance, or audit?
7. Do you have experience working with a UN agency, international NGO, large private or public organization, or in a developing-country, fragile, or humanitarian context?
8. Do you have experience with audit and investigations, safety and security, grant management, enterprise risk management, business continuity, or corporate ERP and IPSAS systems?
9. Are you fluent in English, and do you have knowledge of another UN official language or a relevant local language?
10. Are you willing and able to work in Lagos, Nigeria, undertake a temporary appointment of up to 364 days, and uphold UNICEF’s values, safeguarding standards, and mobility requirements?
