Lafiya is recruiting a Strategy & Impact Analyst for a full-time, 12-month renewable role, subject to funding and performance. The position is remote and reports to the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager. Compensation is between $3,000 and $4,000 per month for US-based candidates, adjusted for cost of living for candidates based elsewhere. About Lafiya: Lafiya works to make contraception accessible through a network of female health professionals, the Lafiya Sisters, who provide information and deliver contraception to underserved communities. Lafiya operates across six Nigerian states, manages 600+ Lafiya Sisters, is developing its own supply chain, and works with government stakeholders on sustainable contraception financing. It has supported more than 800,000 women through its last-mile approach and is transitioning from start-up to scale-up with a focus on impact, cost-effectiveness, dignity and agency.

Position overview: The Strategy & Impact Analyst will support evidence-driven strategic and programmatic decisions within the MEL department. The role covers cost-effectiveness modelling, decision-support analysis, use of Lafiya’s programme data and wider SRHR/global-health evidence, unit-cost tracking, modelling proposed programme changes, cross-sector evidence tracking, external engagement with evaluators and funders, and clear communication of findings, uncertainty and limitations. The successful candidate will spend an extended period in Nigeria, typically around four weeks, learning how the programme operates by shadowing Lafiya Sisters, observing the supply chain, and working with MEL and programme teams.

What you will do: Prepare decision-support analysis for programme adjustments, resource allocation and expansion; maintain and update the core cost-effectiveness model; track cost per client and other unit costs; model proposed improvements such as hybrid or online training and postpartum family-planning integration; monitor research and cost-effectiveness analysis on adjacent interventions; prepare for external evaluator and funder discussions; and translate modelling and research into clear, decision-ready analysis.

Who they are looking for: Someone who prepares evidence thoughtfully, thinks in cost-effectiveness terms, can move between rapid estimates and rigorous analysis, is comfortable estimating with imperfect data, communicates clearly, is driven by learning, is a rigorous truth-seeker, and works autonomously.

Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health or a related field; experience building cost-effectiveness or decision-analysis models, or a demonstrated record of independent cost-effectiveness and decision-relevant analysis; and interest or experience in global health or international development is a plus. Experience levels may range from early-career candidates with strong analytical evidence to experienced consultants or quantitative analysts.

Skills: Professional English fluency is mandatory; strong Excel or Google Sheets proficiency, including building and auditing complex models, is mandatory; R or Python is a plus; clear written communication; ability to critically read and synthesise academic or cost-effectiveness literature; and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.
