The ICT Assistant will support the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, software, networks, and communication systems for IOM Abuja.

Responsibilities:
• Install, operate, and maintain computers and peripherals.
• Provide first-level technical support to staff.
• Receive IT calls and open help-desk tickets.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and access problems.
• Escalate complex issues to the Senior ICT Team Lead or ICT Unit Head.
• Install approved software and maintain updates and antivirus definitions.
• Manage email accounts and mailing lists.
• Support users with connectivity, file storage, and applications.
• Collect, replace, repair, and maintain ICT equipment.
• Keep maintenance records and equipment inventories.
• Monitor ICT procurement requests.
• Perform user-data and server backups and test them regularly.
• Support the Telerad system, file server, PACS server, and iCRco_XC software.
• Manage PABX and other communication systems.
• Promote compliance with IOM ICT rules, regulations, and standards.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:
• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least four years of relevant ICT experience, including operational and field experience.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking, VoIP, corporate Skype installations, and approved ICT software.
• Experience working in an IT support centre using telephone and email communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritise under pressure.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Nigerian languages is an advantage.
• MSCE and CCNA certifications are desirable.

Supervision:
The position works under the overall supervision of the Information Management Technology Officer and the direct technical supervision of the Senior ICT Team Lead.
