The Health Specialist will support Nigeria’s health programmes, with emphasis on routine immunisation, immunisation-system strengthening, new vaccine introduction, and supplementary immunisation activities. The role reports to the Health Manager (Immunization).

Key responsibilities:
• Support health-programme planning and implementation.
• Provide technical guidance for routine and supplementary immunisation.
• Monitor programme progress and results.
• Support new-vaccine introduction activities.
• Build partnerships with government departments and development partners.
• Support knowledge management, innovation, and capacity building.
• Ensure activities align with UNICEF strategic and results-based-management standards.

Requirements:
• Advanced university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Paediatric Health, Global/International Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
• At least five years’ professional experience in public-health or nutrition planning and management.
• Experience in routine immunisation, vaccine introduction, maternal health, or neonatal healthcare.
• National and international experience is an advantage.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN or local language is an advantage.
