Our Program Management training does not only outline the difference but also focuses on the following;

MEAL Management

MEAL Management for the NGO sector is cuts across all activities within any project. Although specific individuals may be charged to be responsible for this role within a Project or Program environment, the skills applicable are of high demand within other roles in a project or program environment.

One challenge our training addresses within MEAL is the specialists' ability to efficiently and effectively collaborate with project/program team members and other key stakeholders.

There are thus various aspects of MEAL but a common focus in all organizations is the Monitoring and Evaluation.

Our MEAL Management training therefore does not focus on  MEAL software but on the following to ensure collaborative efficiency and results;

  1. Orientation or reorientation on Humanitarian and Development sector Principles

  2. Introduction to or a refresher on MEAL concepts and terminologies

  3. Understanding MEAL cycle within Project and Program Management phases (collaborations, issues, risks and change management)

  4. Understanding MEAL Tools and Techniques within Project and Program Management (Theory of Change, Result Frame work and Logic Frame work, MEAL Plan and MEAL Framework)Program conflicts and internal control measures using a case study

  5. Managing collaborations for effective and efficient MEAL plans with a project and a program (defining and collating relevant information, understanding the what, who,why, when and how)

  6.  Addressing common challenges in Data collection and analysis using Case Study and Trainees' on the job exposure.

Finance Management

The NGO sector, ,often termed a fast paced work environment, is donor driven and thus different from the finance management in the private or commercial sector.  This is largely because apart from standard financial rues and regulations, Donor rules and regulations also govern how MEAL, project, program, travel logistics, HR and procurement processes are managed as an integral part of finance functions

Failure to understand and rightly manage this difference has largely affected the outcomes of finance professionals in the sector as well as would affect those seeking a career path in the sector

Our Finance training therefore does not focus on  Finance software or high up professional certification but on the following to ensure collaborative efficiency and results;

  1. Orientation or reorientation on Humanitarian and Development sector Principles

  2. Identifying and understanding  collaboration requirements of key Finance management stakeholders within the NGO sector

  3. Introduction to Project management concepts,  terminologies, principles and discipline and how to collaboratively function within each phase as  applicable in the NGO sector

  4. Introduction to Program management concepts,  and how to collaboratively function within each phase of a program as applicable in the NGO sector

  5. Understanding MEAL cycle and relevance to Finance Management within Project and Program Management environment phases (collaborations, issues, risks and change management)

  6. Understanding and applying MEAL protocols and terminologies within Finance Management (Theory of Change, Result Frame work and Logic Frame work, MEAL Plan and MEAL Framework)

  7. Understanding standard Budgetting practices and donor budget protocols  for reporting and managing budgets

  8. Understanding and managing the synergy between MEAL, Project/Program Managers for effective and efficient collaborative relationships.

  9. Understanding best practices for Project/Program startup and Close out
